Sombra de Vento (Hint of Wind) invites the audience to listen to sound fragments and music references evoked by the films Trás-os-Montes (1976) and Rosa de Areia (1986) by Margarida Cordeiro and António Reis, respectively, side-by-side with Michel Giacometti’s ethnomusicology collection of the 1960s and 70s, and Fernando Lopes-Graça’s variations (harmonizations) on traditional music.
João Polido is a composer and artist born in Marinha Grande, based in Lisbon. He has performed in many events and venues around Portugal and Europe, including the 12th Berlin Biennale – KW Institute for Contemporary Art (2022), in Germany; BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts, at CCB – Centro Cultural de Belém (2021), Lisbon; MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (2021), Lisbon, and Replica Song; SONSBEEK20→24 (2021), in Arnhem, Netherlands.
